This is your unique opportunity to walk side by side with lions at Mukuni Big Five, accompanied by the guides. They will tell you about the behaviour and characteristics of this King of the Jungle. The guides know these lions well and make sure the walk is an amazing and unique experience and safe at the same time. Come and see Livingstone town and museum with us. You will come to appreciate the historic building, many in art deco style, learn about the rich history of the city and the story of David Livingstone. And at least as remarkable: the story of James Chuma and Abdullah Susi. They were the planners for Livingstone's expedition and often made quarters before Livingstone arrived. You can learn about these great adventurers in the Livingstone Museum, which we will be visiting on the tour. Mukuni Village was the largest settlement in the area before Livingstone was founded in 1905. It was established away from the then swampy banks of the Zambezi. Visiting the village of Mukuni, a short ride from Livingstone, shows you how people in rural Zambia live. You get in an insight into the daily life, see how traditional clay huts and houses are being built and what work people do to make a living: farming, home industries and commerce. A guide will take you on a stroll through the village, meeting families, who often are willing to show you their home and tell you about what it is like living in this traditional Zambian way. Zambia is a nation with over 72 tribes each tribe with its own distinct and identifying culture. The cultural diversity makes it very interesting to indulge in cultural excursions. Go rafting on the Zambezi, and conquer the class 3 – 5 rapids of the river. The Zambezi is considered to be one of the best white water rafting rivers in the world. You can do a couple of rapids in a half day tour or if you have more time to spend you can do the full rafting tour or even make it into a multi day rafting experience, camping overnight on the shores of the river. You start off with a briefing about the adventure you are going on, including the important safety briefing. Your guide is your rafting captain and one other guide is following you in a kayak to help out where needed.
